Bring me back, on whispers
where bare feet explore
sticky vinyl, mud, and skin
wanderlust eyes, starry skies.
Erase the blackboard, see me
take our off-road trail
hard lessons, lines, and times
weeping eyes, crying rapids.
Roll together tonight, as one
upon dirt we’ll tremble
slippery lips, hips, and riverbank
fluttering eyes, crashing thunder.
Drive us home, in blankets
our song playing low
stripped bodies, gears, and night
sleepy eyes, anniversary eve.
