It’s September and I’m not a fan – we are forced to kiss summer goodbye, get back to routine and the weather is boring. Get back to routine and the weather is boring. (that’s not a typo, I’m stressing the point) I mean, at least October brings candy (nom), November brings pretty fall leaves and December brings holidays. Frankly, if my husband’s birthday wasn’t in September, I’d skip over it entirely.

But since we can’t…. we need some “balance!”

Yoga provides me with some balance.

But margaritas provides me some balance, too.

So, without further ado…..

inspired by transitioning with grace and style; a “ Yoga Margatini” with a lemon candied rim ~  wonderous! This outstanding margatini has a base fusion of warm vanilla and cool lemongrass- she’s graceful and balanced. The Yoga Margatini is a true peace, love and joy creation!

Let’s get to makin’ this beauty!

YOGA MARGATINI

syurp

2 Fresh organic limes

1 Package lemon hard candies

4oz Blanco tequila

2 oz Tuaca (Italian vanilla liqueur)

1.5 oz Lemongrass simple syrup (recipe below- don’t cheat, you must have this ingredient!)

1.5 oz Vanilla simply syrup (recipe below- don’t cheat, you must have this ingredient!)

First, put the hard lemon candies in a plastic bag & crush (use hammer etc). Put crushed candies on a small plate to rim martini glass.

Next, make the simple syrups.

Mix 2 cups sugar with 2 cups water and 4 lemongrass stalks (cut). Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Cool. Put into glass container of choice.

Mix 2 cups sugar with 2 cups water and 2 whole vanilla beans (slice beans open, scrape inside of pod and put into the water- put pod in water too). Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Cool. Put into glass container of choice.

Then, simply cut the limes in half; press juice (with lime press) into a shaker. After pressing, use the lime rind to moisten the rim of glass and rim with hard candies. Put candy coated glass and place in freezer until ready. Add remaining ingredients to shaker and shake well- violently, well! Once finished, remove martini glass from freezer and strain the ingredients from the shaker into it.  Drink the balanced and peaceful amazingness. Cheers!

Journey on,

JD
